ps2 7700x reset with modbo 4

Hello, i just got my ps2 from a modbo install. i've noticed whenever i press the reset button with a backup disc in, a menu pops up and just shows a cd in the middle and has the work "PS2 data disc". If i turn off the ps2 power and start it up again the back up disc loads. Is this normal?

Yes i think this is absolutely normal because in my ps2 i have a matrix ifinity chip.During a game or in the main menu when i press the reset button with a backup disc in my modchip gets disabled(It does not show that it is disabled but backups do not work). I think every modchip has a bug like this and your bug is one of them..............

Turn off PS2.

Press and hold circle+triangle.

Turn ON.

Tell me what you see exactly.

Chip is working, or you would see a red screen asking for an original disc.
If it is missconfigured, could happen something like what you say.

But im sure your laser is dying.

No bugs in infinity firmware, just good or bad manufacturing.
Modbo4 is a good chip.

i see the matrix infinity configuration screen. don't think it's the laser. it's a brand new scph-77002.

77 series started second half 2006 !!! and in 2007 79 arrived.

If you have a "new" laser its possible it is a bad replacement from china.

Tell me the Matrix configuration.

it's new. had to break the seal. it wasn't easy getting my hands on this model

ok i took it back. it was just a little issue with the rst point.
