i have a regular ps2(not the slim) modded with matrix infinity modchip. But all my ps1 games skip badly during cutscenes. Iv tried cleaning the laser but no dice, still skips. it started after i did one of there flash upgrades. Is there anything i can switch on or off in the matrix boot menue that might fix this. It even does it when i disable the chip. my chip is now upgraded to 1.5
please help
are you 100% sure that you have a REAL infinity?
if you do, press the two buttons on the right upper corner (i believe its triangle and circle) to enter the config menu (do this before the starting screen where it says "sony computer entertainment")
check the boot mode, see if its set to DVD or PS2 games, change it to auto or ps1 game and IF YOU HAVE A CLONE DO NOT DO THIS
Even though you said you cleaned the laser it still sounds like its a laser issue. What version is your PS2?
its a real matrix chip. i know how to get to boot mode and it set to auto but there are a lot of other things that can be switched on and off. would any of those help. and the ps2 is the latest version before the slim. the one with the built in infered for the dvd remote.
Which is the v9/10, I doubt those have laser issue so soon if you did the romeo mod.
if this is with origonals you may have a laser issue , if it is with backups try a different brand . ps2s can be a bit picky with certian cdr . especialy if you are burning to fast .
