A proplem With MY ps2

Hi All
It is my first theard in this board

My proplem is:
Today i want to play GTA:vice City but it can not Boot i tried Getaway,WWE:shut ur mouth and it all DVD

but the proplem is still

i tried to play a cd game and it work

i have a magic2

and my ps2 is:30001
Datacode:1c

can u help me?

if they all booted at one time with no problem, then it probably is your laser wearing out, and needs to be replaced. v1-4's all had weaker lasers and since may need to be replaced.

That's really suck, I can still play my NES perfectly after almost 20 freakings year and a PS2 about 1 years old is already dead.... And it's not just because it's a CD based console... All the sega CD and Saturn I've seen lately still work well. Sony should really start doing something about those stupid laser problems IMO. I was repairing a V4 PS2 for some guy and the laser was dead, and he just bought a damn Game Cube insted buying a new laser. So they must lose alot of sale like this.

i heard from someone that the dust is the proplem

is that correct the laser is new

i bought it from 3 weaks

If your PS2 is only 3 weeks old and you've bought it new, it can't really be a dust problem unless you live in the middle of the desert... But you can still try cleaning the lense and see the result. Also you could check your mod chip installation to be sure no wire got disconnected. And at last resort if nothing work, you could try removing your mod chip and see if the problem persist.

Simple, get a cotton bud, get alcohol/perfume/disc cleaning fluid and put on it, open cdvd drive and lightly rub on laser lens...
...you may try fixing the parallax error if that doesn't work...
