problems with a no solder v5 chip
problems with a no solder v5 chip –
I just got a no solder chip for my v5 ps2. I installed the chip correctly from the pictures. When I put in the gameshark and try to boot a backup of a game, it brings me to the red screen telling to enter a ps2 or psone game. Am I doing something wrong in the bootup process?
what technique are you using to boot the games?
You should be fully booting up to the gameshark menu then do one of two things...
for cd-r's you would select start game without codes..
at the screen where it says to insert the disc, hold eject for about 5-7 secs. the disc tray will open, swap the game out with your cd-r. The disc tray will automatically close after being open for 5 seconds. Once closed immediately press x to boot the game.
Once at the gameshark main menu press eject( do not hold it) and put in a game with a larger Table of Contents than what you want to play. The best to use is either the Devil May Cry demo cd or the original game. Once in press eject again to close the disk tray. Now select start game without codes and at the screen where it says to put in the game disc perform the disc swap the same as a cdr(hold eject for 5 secs...)
to make it more clear heres a link to the install guide for the no solder...
at the bottom of the guide is the boot procedures.
I am having the exact same problem. The lights will flash and then the tray wont open. I am using this as a replacement mod until i have enough money for a magic chip. I am using a gs 1.93.
