Problems With My Messiah2?

have a real weird problem. I bought a Messiah2 1.3 and had a friend install it. I noticed that PSone games are now flickery as hell when they were perfect before.
However, if I pop in an original PSone game I have, the flickering problem is gone. I tried different media and everything, as well as messing with options in the PS2 control menu (ie: text filtering and stuff), and it still happens. PS2 backup games are fine (haven't tried CD ROM based PS2 games yet, just DVD).

If anyone can give any insight to this insanely annoying problem I would appreciate it.

What region is the game?
Make sure you got the SCEx point right, check it....

All the PSone games are backed up NTSC games.

I don't think NTSC/PAL is the problem, because I tried a PAL PSone backup game and the screen rolled, not flickered.

Welcome to the Messiah2 DaddyLongLegs.
Yes, this is a bug on the messiah2.
I had to get a DMS3 as there are no fix available for this problem on the M2.

The guy who modded my machine offered to do a "color fix" for free. Would that fix this problem?

DaddyLongLegs, if you follow the links that Alcahest provided, you'll see that there is no apparent fix to this problem other than getting a different modchip.

Damn! I guess I'll have to keep my PSone with the chip hooked up to my TV then. I was SO looking forward to getting rid of it.
