    Im having a little problem, installing a magic 3 on a v4 ps2,

    PS1 Original - put in resident evil 2 and and it said track 2 in the browser...weird
    PS1 Backup - works fine
    PS2 Original DVD - browser screen
    PS2 Backup CD - goes to the screen no data
    PS2 Backup DVD - just gets to the browser screen

    i thought it was the chip so i swapped it out with one that i know that works, no change

    double checked and tripple checked for bridges/splashes and i cant find anything wrong

    the dvd pot is at 1100 ohms and the cd pot is at 1100 ohms


    any ideas anyone?

    Where did you connect A,B,C,D,G,H,I? Right on the controller? or Via points

    soldered on the via points, 15 watt soldering iron and soldering flux, one touch...so im not overheating them...should i connect them straight to the controller?

    I would really really recommend your solder to the controller.

    Another thing before you change anything make 100% sure that you have no wires in the wrong place. That has happened to me so many times lol.. Now I learned to label each wire.
