Problem with Silent Hill 2

Whenever I try to play Silent Hill 2 or State of Emergency , they give me an error saying "Dual Shock 2 not detected", even though my Sony Dual Shock 2 is connected. I have a V5/6 PS2 modded with Messiah 2.
Can any1 tell me the reason for the errors?

this happened with some of my games too, did you check if the controller is firmly in the port?

and a stupid question....did you check if the analog button was on (red light between the 2 sticks)? i always make that mistake when a game fails to turn it on or i accidentally turn it off and i think my controller is busted stupid me

All other games work a-ok (Vice City, Hitman 2 and the rest work fine)
Yes, I've checked the analog light. Here's another interesting point : whenever I start Silent Hill 2 without the Memory card, it prompts for the inserting the mem. card. However, the controller works fine when I try to select the "yes" / "no" buttons. But as soon as the Konami Logo vanishes, the controller error appears.

i think you got a blown fuses on the motherboard

i have a v7 fuse locator diagrams i know v5 v7 look a lil diff but the controller fuses will still be in the same place

shit the picture didnt help at all besides the picture didnt fully open

the controller fuses are right down the bottom of the mobo

well you need to soldering iron to take these fuses off/or you use solder wick to take the solder and it may come off
