Problem booting PSX game on no-solder modded ps2
Problem booting PSX game on no-solder modded ps2 –
I'm a complete noob, and I do not know what I am doing wrong. I have a v7 ps2 with a no-solder modchip and the USA Swap Disks. I downloaded a PSX game and tried burning it with Nero, and Alcohol 120 just in case it was a problem with the program. I followed the instructions:
1. put in the CD swap disk
2. waited until it said "insert disk"
3. held the eject button for a few secs and thens swaped it with the burned PSX game.
4. hit the X button.
then a pink/red line appeared both at the top and to the left. I read somewhere it mean that it was a "bad burn" but I cannot figure out how to fix this. Is it a problem with the cd-rs I use? or do I have to patch the game somehow? Thanks in advance.
your problem is that the disk is not psx when it should be ps2, you can get the ps1 gameshark and use that instead to boot the psx game, they are only about 1$ now, the demos are suppose to work very well
Thank you very much! I'll try that.
shouldnt swap magic set come with 2 disks? 1 cdrom version, 1 dvdrom version...
yea it does. I have both the cdrom and dvdrom versions.
what speed did u burn at? ...and my ps1 laser can't handle cds i burn fast, it needs to be calibrated
I heard that burning at a high speed might not work so I burned it with 4x speed. Also, keep in mind I have a ps2, not a ps1.
..hmm...i know how to fix this, it sometimes happens to ppl...but i can't remember the solution
If your using Swap Magic disks they won't work with ps1 games. You'll need the Gameshark for ps1. You should have this disk if you bought a Gameshark for the ps2. I used it when I had the no solder r-mod in my ps2.
odd...i always thot the swapmagics work with ps1 games on ps2...
