problem with 30002 v3 and magic 3.1

has been modded for half a year now, i mostly play import jpn games, works quite ok.
and today when i was playing, the game suddenly froze on the next screen.
and now any dvd discs will not work(import, local, movies), you can hear 2 clicks from the laser, then the disc spinning loudly, but it never boots.

cds still work flawlessly

anyone can help?

Id go ahead and say your laser is going out. The v3 lasers were not made to a very high standard and commonly die out, usually its just a matter of time untill they die. You could try adjustment, but usually that is a temporary fix.
