Hello. I have a PS2 here thats in for repair. The user installed a mod chip, which actually looks pretty good. Anyway, they said it was all working fine and then they bolted down the shield and case and plugged it in and the fan spun super fast and now its dead.

When you turn the unit on, the red light comes on. Press it and everything turns on for like 1 second and then it just shuts off and the power light blinks red/green.

I found the PS12 fuse was bad, so I fixed that, but it still does the same thing. No it didnt blow the fuse again. I completely removed the mod to make sure that wasn't it.

Occasionally it will run long enough to eject the tray part way, but that is it. Somethine else has blown somewhere, just dont know what. Something also caused that fan to spin real fast, like it was getting 12v instead of 5.

I am stumped on this one.

Thanks for any help you can provide

Unfortunately, thats not it. I am pretty sure there are no bridges anywhere, I checked all the points with a magnifying glass. The thing is that now the fan runs at normal speed, just only for a second before blinking. I can't verify that the fan speed was up, I am just going on what I am told.
