Possible to update a Duo3 chip?
Possible to update a Duo3 chip? –

Hi, I picked up a pstwo lately and I had an old Duo3 chip laying around, not a gold or ultra version, plain Duo3.
I would like to set up Open PS Loader to load my games from SMB share. I would like to be able to load OPL directly from the memory card. Unforutnately the Duo3 does not support dev1 booting.
Would it be possible to update the code on my chip to support dev1 booting? I would hate to just toss away that chip and buy another one.

Just get FMCB works like mod chip is free and works well with OPL
Really only benefit of mod chips now days is PS1 game running

V10 SCPH-50001 with Network adapter SCPH-10281 500 G HD
PSP 3000 9G 6.20 PRO CFW Perm
Unofficial FMCB v1.8C OPL self compiled HD and SMB preferred
Is how all good gaming systems came to be

Thank you for the quick reply.
Unfortunately, playing PSX games isn't out of the scope. Also, I would like for my console to boot straight to OPL. Is 'it possible with FreeMCBoot?
But is it possible at all to update the code on the chip? I will install it anyway as it's currently the only possible way for me to install FreeMCBoot. I don't have Swap Magic or AR Max. Booting a burned disc is the only option, am I right?

Yea FMCB can boot to OPL directly and about your mod chip just remember after you install FMCB it may be incapable with it and OPL may be as well so you may have to disable it

As i remember there Was three revisions of Duo3 modchip and all support DEV1 mode. There are at least there different data structure on mc for DEV1 and different buttons for holding. Have You try all of them?
Also all Duo line for PS2 is not updatable.
