please verify if i fried my ps2/dms3
I have a v7 ps2 and dms3 that i very half-ass installed. I should've waited until I got the right wires but I didn't. I used a split up IDE cable and didnt have a super fine tip on my soldering iron. Now to my questions and my problem.
I half-ass installed the chip and went to turn it on... I got it to power up, the fan turned on, and the LEDs on the front lit up. My dvd drive tray does not open when hitting the eject button, the tv screen stays completely black, and there is no sound what-so-ever. I took the modchip out and the ps2 acted the same way. Please explain what is wrong with it.
How can I use my multimeter to determine whether or not I have fried my DMS3 chip as well as my ps2?
I have accepted that my ps2 now makes a nice paperweight, but I would at least like to be able to use my DMS3 on another ps2.
I understand most concepts of electronics, I was just a lazy ass with a "I'll just buy another one" attitude. So feel free to talk to me without dumbing it down.
