    after install ps2 will not play any games ,none,nada. my son is driving me crazy , when you put a game in it will tell you in the top corner if it is a ps2 game movie or ps1 press x to play game you can hear it spin up to play but then just go back to that same screen after 3 or 4 attemps it will tell you no data please please anyone any advice would help, anything

    My guess is that something is wrong with your install.

    -I would start by checking the install visually, making sure all the points on the chip match up to the correct ones on the install diagrams. Also check the chip and board visually for solder splashes or wire scraps making contact. I would also make sure all the ribbons and cables have been installed correctly when re-assembling the PS2.

    -If everyhting above is good then I would use a multimeter and check the install for continuity. Also check the MNOP..etc points on the bios chip to make sure you don't have shorts in between the pin legs. Again use the multimeter for this.

    - If all that checks out and the problems persist, remove the chip and see if the PS2 returns to normal. Then if it does return to normal re-install the chip if after the chip is re-installed the problem comes back you have a faulty chip.
