Please help...think i might have screwed up my laser
Here is my problem...I have a magic 3 installed in my v1 ps2. I managed to get everything working...i recalibrated my laser and everything seemed to be working fine. After I found a setting for my laser that worked I proceeded to put the ps2 back together. I guess in putting it back together I managed to install the cage that surrounds the expansion bay wrong. When I fired up the ps2 the tray ejected and then stuttered as it went back in macking a clicking noise. I wanted to figure out what was making the noise so I opened up the disk drive so i could see the laser and tried booting up again. I saw that when I turned on the ps2 the laser eye kept on moving up and down as if trying to focus. It would bash into the top of its housing making a clicking noise as it went up and down. I then took apart the ps2 and put the expansion cage back the correct way and the laser seemed to go back to normal. Unfortunately now my ps2 wont boot any backup dvds or cds. It will boot originals but it always makes it to the browser screen and reads for a while before it recognizes the disk. I tried doing an azimuth adjustment...maybe i didnt turn the screw far enough...but it didnt seem to make any difference at all even when i turned the screw a whole turn in one direction and then a whole turn in the other. Even after adjusting the screw originals always seemed to boot, but none of the backups. Any advice...I'm about out of ideas. Thanks so much for any help.
