Please help a n00b :-)

I have decided its finally time to get a PS2 and get it modded. Can you guys please tell me if i should get a premodded slim ps2 or buy a slim ps2 and get it modded? (may sound silly but i juts wanna be sure)

I was gonna get the crystal chip installed and in some diagrams I saw a diode fix v12. Does that mean it wont give me problems with the laser? I am really concerned. I want to be able to enjoy my ps2 for at least 2 years


Also is the crystal chip a good chip. Will it do what other chips like the infinity and dms do???

This has been asked before so I higly recomend searching...

...But consedering that this is your first post I will help you out.

I highly recomend getting a ps2 slim(yourself) and sending it in to somebody to mod,Highly recomended is Davbere,GTR,Robochicken,and a vew others or even me if your in south africa LoL ,now if you look in this tread: http://www.psx-scene.com/forums/show...559#post254559 you can see how everybodys installs looks and you can compair them and see wich one you like and if the installer is in your area.

The diode fix is one of the protection fixes for the ps2 slim,but isnt effective, summ0ne's fix is alot better and is extreemly good in combenation with the cumsoft fix.

You made a good choice with a Crystal Chip,stick by it or get a matrix infinety,try not to get a dm$4 and stay as far away of the DM$ ezi as possible.
