    U1 systems are most of the time an v1..
    U0 = v2.
    U2 = v3.

    You can open it up to make sure.

    look for a chip in the bottom left side of the board that says 020 or 010 in the middle line.

    Odds are it's a v1, as my v1 is a u1-0D with an 020 BIOS. But as tc_ suggests, it's to your benefit to carefully open the unit and note the BIOS version you have as some were 020 and others were 010.

    The 010s are the early model problem childs and if you intend to have a direct-boot mod installed, you really need to know what version you have so that you can be sure of ordering the correct mod for it, especially if it has an 010 version BIOS.

    V1 but you also need to knw the BIOS to assure your choice of modchip.

    May we know the PTxxx barcode number. The U310 isn't recorded in my database against that datecode.
    If you've opened the PS2, the GH-0xx number and BIOS details will help you in your choice of modchip.

    FYI - It's an early v4, Charlie, just like mine (u3338*** v4-1A. LOD has a similar 1B.) Prime candidate for anything, including an original Messiah (which is sitting in mine.)

    Balto can I please have the PT number of your v4/1A? My database has U3*/PT13/1D not 1A.

    Thanks
