Hello I just got my PAL V5 console chipped with a ****** 2 gold (don't flame me please, it was the only chip I could get).
Everything i've trown at it plays fine, however when I play PSX NTSC imports I get an upshifted screen.
The game itself is displayed correctly, I can still see everything, but it looks as if i'm playing on a 37 cm TV instead of a 55 cm one (if you know what I mean).
So , what the hell should I do now? I really can't stand playing like this. Bad chip, bad installer?
Hypper 2 doesn't support the full screen NTSC import/backup games. You can't do that much, except changing your mod.

It's called ****** 2, not Hypper 2..
Secondly, I think that is unfixable, it's probably one of the many flaws of the chip.
Will it do the same with PS2 NTSC imports?

That word "******" is censored here... That is why one has to name it somehow. That is why I call it Hypper.
As the other thing, yes you can do nothing, that and many other chips have this flaw, live with it or as said, change that modchip to a more reliabe + flawless one.

lem: no it won't do the same with PS2 NTSC imports as far as I know.

Ok, thanks for the help.
BTW: just found a prog which I can use to convert NTSC games to PAL. I tried it out and it worked, so I guess it's not that bad afterall, the only PSX game I want to play is Xenogears anyway, rest of my games will be PS2 ntsc.
uns97 : How come PSX NTSC imports cause an upshifted screen whereas PS2 NTSC imports will play fine? Are you 100% sure PS2 NTSC imports will play in FULL screen in NTSC mode?
I'm about to order 5 PS2 NTSC games so I really need to be sure.
