Playing backup games online –
I've been a long time hobbiest in the field of video gaming "backupping" and mod chip installation. When i first heard of the PS2's online capabilities a few years ago, i instantly had a question.
Now, theoritically speaking of course, if one was to make an illegal copy of a game will they 1) be able to play it with no complications. 2) will sony have any kind of protection against this, ie. using specific serials for games where in only one person would be able to log on to the server and play using that serial/game? 3) do you think sony will be logging ip's upon logging on to their server, and if so, how soon do you think it will take is to make a ps2 compatable ip spoofer?
And on top of all this (if the all or anyone of the previous statements are true) then wouldn't renting these games proove useless, assuming that at least one of the hundreds of people who rented that specific copy of the game has an illegal copy of it?
lol, thanks to anyone who actually read all of that, and furthermore, thanks to anyone who actually has answer
p.s.: if anyone ever plans on making an ip spoofer for the ps2, i'll help in any way needed.
bumping. interesting question. i'll be interested to know if anyone knows anything about this. sorry i can't answer...
