PAL..v5 or v6?

I've been doing some more reading up about the messiah 2 and how v6 models aren't supported (right?) -- slight problem, I don't know whether my ps2 is v5 or v6 model. I know its one of those because the model number's got an R at the end. Is there a way to find out if its v5 or v6 without taking the cover off the ps2?

There is no issue with PAL models. v6 is fine with Messiah 2 PRO & EUR.
