    PS2FREAK Guest
Well Ive been thinkin about gettin the Magic2 chip and I live in the US so all of our games are NTSC based. I want to buy UK games bu they are all PAL. Now how do I get them to work on my system?? Do you have to buy the chip and thats it?? or do you need something special like a converter?? Or do the RGB cables take care of this issue?? I have no clue so somebody out there must know. Thanx

Usually if you don't have an NTSC/PAL selector or convert it to NTSC the PAL game with be off center and grey. You can download some utilities at www.ps2ownz.com. Just go to there legal downloads section.

Well everytime I patch the Image file it gets to about 55% and it gives me an Illegal operation error message

It's a real pain being in the US sometimes if you don't have a multi-system TV (like most of us in Europe have).

The PS2 plays anything and puts whatever it is out the back (PAL or NTSC). If your TV is multi-system then PAL stuff will play right away.

DVD games don't readily patch so that would remain a problem.

also, if you live in the New York City area, any of the electronics stores in the midtown Manhattan area will carry multi-system DVD's, VCR's, and TV's. You will pay a premium for it over a straight NTSC, though.

Charlie, what country do you live in? UK, so you dont know! You can go to some specialty stores that carry them for a marked up price, but the TVs that are made for sale here are not MultiSystem, none are.

Idiot. I just gave you a web site with a US address. The TVs they sell are cheap enough and are multi-system.

Besides you emphatically said: "Charlie, You cannot buy a retail Multi-System In The United States.". Wrong! Have you re-defined the word 'retail'?

By the way, see your Congressman about the multi-system TV thing; the rest of the world retails them in normal stores - about time parts of the USA woke up to the rest of the world being there.
