Try to change tv mod -->ext1 , or ext2 , or ext 3
If pal & ntsc is black this is the problem
Just switch in another external port

sorry. my fault description is slightly wrong. i can play pal games in colour but ntsc games come out in black and white. the picture are stable though so i presume that my tv suppirts 60hz. the tv is only 1 year old and a fairly new model. any new suggestions to help me with this annoying dilemma
    thanks

quite a lot of PAL tvs are like that, NTSC comes out in black and white, it's the fault of your TV, does it support RGB in?

I had the same problem, to sort it I had to add a bit of solder to two pins on a chip on the mainboard. It's quite small but if you've installed a messiah then you should have no problems. After that all games in brilliant colour! The picture should explain all.

    Good stuff here!
I had the same problem, also the picture was jumping. The color fix worked, picture still jumping. It was the TV. Some old tv's don't like 60Hz, if you adjust the "v-hold", you could get it stable, then readjust it to watch normal programs.

As long as your TV supports 50hz(doesn't have to support PAL), then the NTSC colour fix will solve your problems.
