i'd say you want to clean your case really good, and find the most quality of a paint you can, don't just buy the 39 cent can, they're watery....then lightly go over it about 10-15 times until it's all silver, then i'd get a can of clear, and go over it 20 times to ensure the silver won't get scratched off....i know it sounds like alot of work, but you're always more proud of work you do than stuff you buy.

key thing:TAKE YOUR TIME, i think i mentioned before, if you've ever done spraypainting your first 3 coats you should still see some little parts that are black from the case, you want to DUST the ps2 with paint at least first few coats, or else you won't be as happy with the results.....

i was thinking of doing the same after seeing that grey 50004 model. you gonna do the tray doors as well? how would you do that one? as for scratches, would multiple layers of paint eventually cover up the scratches?

hmm, i'm starting to think i should also paint my ps2!
to make sure we don't go over the PS2 logo at the top, do we keep some form of sticky paper on it? on each line of the logo?

think for the ps2 logo, you should put a light masking tape over it and gently cut the tape with a razor, don't want to leave deep marks in the ps2...then paint your coats of color, and i think it would be a cool effect if you could get like 1/16-1/8th inch of clear coat to even the paint, and the logo out, not sure though, i've never done it.

don't spray too close.. 20 cms is good.

if you want something REALY pimped up..
spray then sand with wet, spray sand with dry, spray.. etc etc until you get that polished mirror finish. now that looks sik

I painted my PS2 in gray.

I bought some really expensive paint. The color was gray.
    What you gotta do:

just buy some expensive good quality spray, and make reallly really sure it will hold on plastic.

put tape on the PS2 logo, I used thick tape, worked fine. . . .

If your PS2 logo is screwed up, don't go crying .

A friend had the same problem, and his logo was completly sprayed, a cool idea is to spray the logo (because you'll see the logo a little bit if you spray over it) orange if you sprayed the ps2 gray. My firend did the same, the result looks good!!

I will upload a picture soon of my PS2!!

It will almost looks like the: silver prestige line PS2 if you do the following:

After painting everything put a protection layer on it, the result is a silver prestige line PS2
