Original Xenosaga on non-DVD9 modchip

will the original direct boot itself even if the ps2 has a modchip that doesn't support dvd9???

I don't think, cause XenoSaga is on a dvd9 support.
But the only nonswap modchips which cant boot dvd9 games are Magics 1 & 2, Matrix (not sure)...
The others (eg. Messiah, Sniper, DMS3, Magic3) could boot DVD9 without problem (Messiah 1: I saw on the web a video that proves Messiah 1 boots Xenosaga: China-Messiah source)

Magic 2 can't direct boot Xenosaga except on v5/v6 PS2s. Messiah 2 is OK. If you have a modchip in that does not allow direct boot of DVD9 games, then unless the chip can be turned off, they won't boot.

Do U say Magic 2 or Magic 3 ?

Is hould have said Magic 2 AND Magic 3 cannot boot DVD9.

Wait charlie, the chips have to be in off mode to boot DVD9s? They wont do it when on? That means they cannot boot Pressed DVD9 HK copies then? GAYNESS

If you can put the chips into off mode. Magic 3 wouldn't go into off mode. So they wont boot DVD9 "silvers".

i was told that as long as your chip supported DVD9 that it would boot if its on or off. magic 3 can boot DVD9 but with a very low percent Rate

Well I didn't try to load Xenosaga 100 times. But I tried 20 times and didn't get it to load; nor behind AR2/GS2.

i thought that the magic 2 can boot dvd9 behind gs2/ar2.....
