Is it true that the optic part of the R type units differ from the non R type ones ?
My lens part is not weak....yet, but my unit can't play dvd movie correctly, I think the lens is unstable, HOW can I balance it ?

Before the machine was installed with magic II chip, It worked fine, the DVD movie played correctly, and after it was installed, the DVD movie STILL played correctly, but only for one month, any logical explanation for this ?
A lot of info I have seen on this is that, you should check you dvd points, maybe a leg came loose! Another fix I have seen is trying a double reset.

the cd/dvd controller points are the tiny legs you soldered to on the small square chip.
