During my last install of a magic 3 in a version6 PS2, i got down to the last wire and had a slight accident, the resistor (at least thats what i think it is) where you solder wire "S" worked loose and came off the board. I have tried for a while to solder it back without success. Does anyone know where you can obtain a new one of these components? its marked on the top "104"

Now i know this is a long shot, and probably not recommended as this component is there for a reason, but out of curiousity, what effect would it have if the two points where the component was, were bridged?

    Any help greatly appreciated.

No really sure, u should wait for confirmation but I think this one is only for psx games, so u could still play Ps2 games without it.

Does this resistor have to be a certain type? i have come across many different types throughout my search. So far i have that it is a 100K ohm Surface mount resistor. Does any one have anything further to that?

It doesnt have to be a surface mount resistor. Go to any Radio Shack and pick up a 1/4 watt resistor. Use some thin kynar wire on the 2 points where the old one came off and solder that to the resistor. Make sure you insulate it well with some heat shrink or electrical tape and you should be good to go.
