card swap trick/knife trick can play imports or back ups with a device such as gameshark/action replay/or swap magic disks?
the reason why i asked this is because someone on the fire pro Z board (on gamefaqs) said that its not possible. im...confused.
thanks again.

Because the gameshark has a TOC of a certain size and some dvd to cd rips of games and some cd games that have a larger TOC then the Gameshark TOC will not play.

so it all depends on the size of the boot disk? correct?
thanks.

OK, the definitive answer is this....No, it will not play Imports, only backups, unless you have the original JAP 10000/15000 models. There was a change made to later 18000 and subsequent 3xxxx models that would not allow you to play imports.
However....if you choose to go that route, which is utterly pointless, you can only play CD/DVD backups with a bootdisc larger than the game you are playing.
There are no real large discs for CD, but with DVD, the largest you could get is either Devil May Cry 1 or Gran Turismo for PAL, but all depends on your region.

Hang on... I play imports on my PS2 with a no-solder and swap magic. You can't play imports with the SBox and so on, but because you boot an in-region disc and swap to an out-of-region one, the PS2 thinks the disc is a local region one, and plays. In fact, I have found a few games that play great with that set up, but not at all with a Messiah 1.
