ok magic 3.1 S(cex) point

OK, i just want to know, is the 'S' point on the magic 3.1 for v1 gh-004 systems required for use of ps2 backups, or is it only used to recognize psx backups? I need to know this because i think i'm going to get back to soldering the magic 3.1 in my system. Also, if anyone has any ideas of how to solder to the super close points on the dvd/cd controller chip, gimme a shout. Some hi-res diagrams would be useful as well.

The S point is only for PS1 backups ;-)

how big of wire are u using on those points?

the wiring that was supplied with the chip, it's super thin, i dunno the guage, maybe around 30 or so

well flux the pin add some solder then flux metal part or wire bring wire close to the pin then move the iron to the point

pffffttt, easier said than done dude, the pins are prolly around 100 microns apart
