Odd problem with CDR games...
Odd problem with CDR games... –

I recently downloaded 2 DVDRipped games and burned them on Memorex 80min CDRs. They both resulted in the same problem.
The game boots up fine except the entire screen skips constantly. (Kinda hard to describe, only time I can recall seeing this problem was with older television sets. With a knob that you could adjust to fix it).
I did a bit of research and couldn't find any information about this problem. Has anyone ever seen this before? My first impression was that it must be a bad rip, but after I tried the second one (ripped by someone different), I started suspecting that it was probably my ps2 or the media.
I'm using a MagicV on a V9 PS2. I have no problems playing DVDs (Originals, copies and movies). I haven't tried original CDRs or PS1 discs.

well, burn them @ 1x speed, dont do anything while on your pc and you should be fine. Use good media as well but in my opinion you should stick with DVD-R Games
Solderless Mods and Flip tops are like tampons, every pussy needs one!

This happened to me too...its prolly because your version is PAL and you need NTSC...just go get a patch for the game and reburn the new image and it should work fine
