NTSC v7 M2Pro 1.08 Red Screen of DEATH

Just got my ps2 modded by a professional with a M2 Pro v1.08 Batch #241 PCB FIXed. I had to loosen the screws up a bit for it to work ...but other than that had no problems with it. I've been abusing the poor console for 3 days about 4-6 hour each day playing CD-R and DVD-R games. For the first time since i got the console modded i've played an original DVD Final Fantasy X. Once finished i've gotten the RED SREEN OF DEATH when trying to play any back up for PS2 CD-R and DVD-R alike. When trying to play Thrill Kill for PSX it was identified as an audio CD. The last game played before Final Fantasy X was tekken 4 CDr.

I've read Charlie's Troubleshooting guide for M2 and haven't decided the best course of action. If anybody had a similar problem please post your suggestions here.

stupid question- did you take the system back to standby prior to trying to boot the ps2 backups? For my system when I play some originals and I want to play a backup I have to put the system in standby then boot normally. Otherwise it seems the messiah 2 doesnt initialize.

yup. standby it is, i tried to hold the reset buttont to turn the messiah 2 off and than reset it again and tried it, nothing worked.

another stupid question did you ever think to take it back tot he guy who installed it i mean he did give you warrenty right???

so let him tamper with it

You may not like his wise-ass comments but they are not wrong.

A Pro installer would not slacken off the screws. Hw ewould have seen what it says in the install guide and would ensure they are tight s that proper heat conduction takses place. It is possible (but not certain nor likely) that the PS2 has partially expired through overheating.

Thin backing tape should be used so that the metal cover fits tightly over the motherboard. That os a must.

If it's anything else, it'll be install related, like something come off; a snagged wire and the screw has now bored through; that sort of thing.

cleaning the lens won't help right? Where can i get a diagram showing how to open the PS2.

i wasnt been a smart arse, i was saying that you shouldnt tamper with things if something is under warrenty no matter how stupiid or easy the problems is, i mean warrenty deosnt look good you know it is there for a reason, say if you did blow it what are you gonna do once it ****ed put it back together and go back tot he guy and say you never tamper with it, is it really worth the trouble

as for the diagrams go here www.messiah2.com i think from here you can do most of the search

How long do you hold the reset button down when you power on the unit to boot a game?

you must be taling about mode 1, well you hold powr button until blue light comes on then let god both ps1 and dvd movie boot

mode1 goes for ps1 and dvd movies
mode2 is ps2 and you dont have to hold powr button
