NTSC games on mod-chipped PAL Playstation 2
NTSC games on mod-chipped PAL Playstation 2 –
can i play NTSC games in 60hz and fullscreen on a mod chipped PAL PS2 ?
I have a mod-chipped PAL PS2 and I play NTSC games in 60Hz and fullscreen all the time. I use a PS2 scart cable to connect the PS2 to the TV. Not the one that has the yellow, red and white rca jacks connected with a scart adaptor that comes stock with all PAL PS2s, but a separately bought PS2 AV cable with just a pure scart connector at the end of it. It is this later scart cable that gives the best quality picture.
If you are living in the PAL region you also need a PAL TV which supports 60Hz. Typically any PAL TV which has a scart socket will support 60Hz. Just change the TV channel to AV or SCART or RGB and you're good to go.
As long as you have a PS2 AV-to-(pure)scart cable and a PAL TV which supports 60Hz, you can play NTSC games in 60Hz and fullscreen on a mod-chipped PAL PS2. I hope this information helps you.
