NTSC fix on Pal V7 question
NTSC fix on Pal V7 question –
If I install the NTSC fix on the V7 PAL console, will
PAL games also run at NTSC speed?
Also, I tried a pal to ntsc patcher, but that caused
the screen to expand vertically so that part of the
bottom portion of the gamescreen just disappears :P
Or, does anyone here know of any util to
make a proper NTSC image from a PAL one?
Kind regards, Gouki
The NTSC fix (3.3v) is usually for US PS2 owners as it forces the PS2 to output pseudo-NTSC for PAL games which means 625 lines at a 50hz scan rate and a 3.58mhz colour carrier (NTSC colour coding which US TV's understand.)
The PAL fix (GND) is usually for UK PS2 owners as it forces the PS2 to output pseudo-PAL for NTSC games - 525 lines at 60hz scan rate and 4.43mhz colour carrier (PAL colour coding which UK TV's understand.)
I can't imagine why you'd want to make an NTSC image from a PAL one. It's a myth that it looks better.
