CDMaker doesn't give you enough control over how a disc is read or written (no subchannel, error skip, RAW DAO, sub-channel correction, etc.) You really need a program that will give you these options to work around some copy protection schemes. I have it, and it's great for making backups and ripping Audio and MP3's--but I highly recommend CDRWIN or CloneCD--get both if possible. CloneCD seems to run a bit faster, and has fewer settings to worry about,--but CDRWIN gives you more flexibility and power for troublesome CD's. I have yet to have a PS2 CDROM game fail with CloneCD (only read subs, disable fast error skip, and don't correct subchannel). Some PSX Games have proved a bit touchy at times, but CDRWIN usually gets it right with a little tweaking.
If it ain't broke don't try to fix it! But, hell if you can tweak that bastard just a little bit more....hehehe.
