noob ps2 modding –
04-15-2009,11:48 PM
Is it possible for a complete noob, such as myself, to solder a modchip to my ps2 with no past knowledge of soldering, or modchips at all? I learn quite fast, but I have no idea what any termanology means, or how to solder, or...well anything. Am I hopeless for the solder solution and just go for the solderless one, or what? Or is there somewhere I could send it into? I have a 7/8 ps2, I dunno if that matters, but just trying to get an idea of what my situation is.

I would recommend getting a DMS4 EZI solderless chip if you can find one, but if you haven't soldered before, I wouldn't advise you to do a self install. If you practice soldering on an old graphics card or something that has really tiny points with a 15 Watt iron and some really thin solder, you could try to chip your PS2 on your own, so good luck!
