  1. #1 Question non-modchip solutions for a v4 ps2

So I previously posted here about modding my v4 ps2 with a modchip probably something like a dms3 or messiah2. I know I can do it but the thing is this: b/c my ps2 is from 2001 it has a really old dvd rom drive you guys said that it wouldn't read my dvd burns. and if it did you said it would only read if it was dvd-. and even if it's dvd- it would only be a slight chance of being able to read.

So after hearing that about my ps2's old dvd rom not reading dvd +/- that well... I've decided to take another route. I am probably gonna switch to using a non-modchip option. Like the usb thing, or the boot disk, magic swap, stuff like that.

What would you guys suggest if I do that... or do you guys NOT suggest any non-modchip solution? Maybe they all suck ... maybe they are as good as modchips? I'm not sure.

How is switching to a piece of shit mod going to help your situation? Why not sell your v4 with a few games and then you will have enough to buy a nice new ps2 and a real mod.
