No Video After Mod--Any Idea ? –
This is Version 1...what I did look at around it nothing the same as what my V1. One part is the same as V1-A, One part is the same as V1-C but there is a location of all the pins are not shown in V1-C either. I am confused. I have a picture attached so you can see what I am talking about.
After I combined pics V1-A and V1-C, then I soldered all the points for magic 3.1. I have modded over 7 PS2 without anything like this. Here is the problem
1. After modded, I turned on fine, tested the game, lost all the power during disc running.
2. Turn Off and On again, Red light(reset) On for 30 seconds then completely OFF
3. I have to unplug again for couple mins, then plug back in, Red light on 5 secs now, then OFF again.
I wonder if anyone has encountered this kind of V1 and the problem I have. I have opened up many times and reassembled again again without any success. I even desoldered the chip but still nothing. Was the power supply bad?

You can try checking the pins you wired to for M-R and that no pins next to then on the board are touching each other..
Especially the one next to pin P
I did check every single pin to make sure it not bridge between the left and right pins. Right now is like plug-in power, turn on the power switch in the back, Red light on reset comes on for 10 seconds, then it's disappeared, no matter I turn the power switch On or Off. There is no Red light shown, I have to unplug the power cable for couple mins before I can plug back in again, and it does the same thing.
Try removing the mod and see if the problem is still there - if so check for shorts abound the places you soldered.
removed the mod but it still the same, Plug in the power, Turn on, Red light pop up then gone. rechecked all the pins , none are bridge.
Have anyone ever got a problem like this? Red light on for a second then off after the power switch is on. Let me know how you trouble-shooting this issue.
sounds like a short - double check all the places where you soldered. Also check the fuses with a multimeter.
PS14 fuse is most likely issue or the bios fried. If you are in the US and you are willing to pay for shipping both ways I would like to have a crack at it. I have repaired lots of PS2's and I buy up allot of damaged units to refurb and sell.
Removed the mod, still the same. Checked all the Fuses, they're perfect. All of my solder points very clean, I really don't know where it's short. I stripped everything apart and checked with magnifying glass but couldn't find anything that's gone bad. I wonder if this is a system of death power supply.
letsmod: I still have 2 other mods PS2 to play with so I will keep this for experiment and learning.
you can check the output of the PSU - should be 12v on those pins that connect it to the mobo.
I did get 12v from PS, so I guess the PS is ok then. Now I haven't touched it after my last post, today I turned it ON, the Red light is on now, that's weird. So far so good, however, when I turned it On, the Green light Blinking but no video.
Have anyone ever encountered Green light Blinking without video ???
