It won't read any past the 72 minute TOC limit for CDs.
Does anyone have an example of a 80 min cd that doesn't work? I have a V4 no solder and about 30 sumthing cd-r's that all work.
I'd like to know of any out there.
most dvd-rips that are released are over the 72min limit.
ok cool. I dont get dvd-rips anyway.
Thanks
TRUE, the no-solder chip wont read 80min CD-Rs...but most games that are not rips are under 72min. And there is a way to read DVD-R games if you boot an original DVD with a larger TOC.
so no-solder chip seems pretty good for about $15 and no soldering!
only downside is, they can't read imports =(
snoopdiggy.............you can use dvd-r swap to boot import originals...........after all the game is in correct format for ps2 to read, and, there is nothing different about these games and domestic games in terms of dvd layout.......oh yeah you also have to follow the same rules as any other game you are trying to boot, of course dmc and dmc demo are suggested as swapping discs, and remember if the import is over those two games TOC, then it wont boot.......
OH REALLY?....this is very interesting...
what about FFX international? that is the only import i consider playing..and would consider buying a messiah/magic for, but if i can play it with a simple no-solder.... !!!!!!
Im playing an import copy of DDRMAX with a V4 nosolder modchip
Just do the DVD swap with the AR2/GS2 and all is fine
Also.. Does anyone know if the Swapmagic disks defeat the 72min TOC limit??
No it does not defeat the cd 72 min toc limit.
