No solder mod + SSX Tricky
No solder mod + SSX Tricky –

I was trying to do the swap with a no solder mod and ssx tricky using the gameshark. i put in the gameshark disk and then waited for that to load, then i swapped that out normally for an original ps2 game. i went to start game then without codes, then i put in the burned dvd of ssx tricky. when i ejected the tray the original ps2 game was still spinning, when i went to start ssx tricky it wouldnt work. any help would be appreciated. thanks

it is a ea game so if you have a no-solder mod he could refuse to take it

I have used a DVd-R copy of SSX Tricky for a while now on Optodisc media. I use swap magic discs though. But, in my experience with game shark, what I would do is the following:
1. Load GS disc
2. Swap in PS2 original right when the GS menu comes up
3. Turn on and off a code
4. Start w/o codes
5. Swap discs
Theoretically, the disc should not be spinning as that should give it enough time to read and spin back down.
Also, make sure your original has a larger TOC than SSX Tricky.

Maybe in your dvdr copy have applied EA boot fix patch.
