No Solder mod chip –
06-19-2002,03:07 PM
I have the no solder mod chip and the Game shark ver 2.01 but I can't seem to boot any DVD-R's. Has anyone else w/ this set up have any success? I have tried the DAve Mirra trick as well as swapping w/ an orignal DVD game. Any help would be great, thanx.

So... the 1.93 is still in the SharkBoard package, eh? Perhaps I need to make another trip over to Best Buy before they all disappear and then run a few eBay auctions.
Glad to hear it worked for you. Hopefully Charlie hears from the G-man soon so you can finally relegate that GS2 to just cheat codes before you burn the laser head out...

If you haven't done so already, try unplugging the USB mod from the port and give it another try. You shouldn't have to remove the internal jumper wire, unless you want to use the USB port associated with it (for a SharkPort cable or SharkBoard keyboard, etc.).
If it still doesn't work, open the unit and recheck all your flat cable connections by wigglng them in tightly to be certain that they're FIRMLY seated in the connector and making the proper contact.
I recall someone mentioning once that he thought he had the cables seated properly, but upon reseating them firmly, his Rmod started functioning. Be sure they're in as far as the can go, eh?
