I've just installed the Magic 3 chip.

it power up ok, but not working for any PS2 backups, and I try the PS1 backup which need hold reset until the eject light goes to blue then release the reset.

but, it gone to black screen, and then nothing....
I turned off the PS2, and start again, now the problem began...

the TV screen has no activities when I turn on the PS2, reset function ok(when I press reset buttom the DVD rom clicking, so I think the reset function is ok)... but can't eject the tray... I've desoldered the chip, but on luck...

    do anyone have this problem?

would it be some fuse blown up?

    please help me out....

    thanks for advance....

You've most likely got a short somewhere, where you've soldered to. You need the aid of a digital multimeter to check all your removed connections for shorts between pins etc.

First of all, thanks for reply on my thread.

Relayer, if it has a short, it should be not working on the first time power up, how come it acted as normal? why when I hold the reset for few seconds, then it not working? I'll going to double check the connections. see what's the result.

it completely different, first power up, it works but only play originals(due to my installation problem). at least, it worked as a unchipped PS2, when I hold reset until the blue eject light on. the screen turned to black and nothing happend. so I turned off the PS2 and power up again. no screen activities now

the PS2 version is v3, just in case let everyone know so you can help me... what's the problem would be...

No, I've desolder the chip but still not working....

I mean I installed the chip it won't play backups, only play originals, so it acted like a unchipped PS2 in last post...

You should probably let everyone know what you did to solve your problem. I'm sure someone else reading this would like to know.

the problem was some pins bridged, I've checked every pins very very carefully use a multimeter, found out those bridged pins, and give it a clean, and it working now...

    Thanks for Relayer's advise..

ITMASTER you should also check yours as well.
pay attendtion when you doing the work, use multimeter to check every possible pins.... you might like what I did, and don't know...

when you found some small pins bridged, use solder sucker instead of Braid, because Braid made a big mess for me ...

    Good Luck...
