hi all after getting my ps2 chipped with the usb mod (sbox) using
dvd region x everything has been working ok for the last 14 days up untill saturday morning when one of my backups froze whilst playing after reseting the console or turning the power off and on
the dvd stopped working and was going straight to the browser
after 10 miutes of pressing reset on off ect ( and placing an original ps2 dvd game in the drive it started again all of saturday it was ok untill sunday morning same again and now today
3 times in the space of 4 hours i have given it back to the guy who did it for me ( my 3 mates got theres done same day with no probs) sofar? any help would be great keeps the kids of my back
allso the green light on the sbox only comes on when the game starts but all others iv seen starts when the console is switched on? my ps2 is ver5 and i burn my own games at 2x with verbatim

My advice is to take the USB mod out. If I'm not mistaken, it pulses what is known as the SCEx signal and this can disrupt the laser unit.

Bets way to get the kids off your back is to put a Messiah into the PS2. A bit more expensive but worth while not having to swap.

i had a funny feeling you were going to say that charlie i know it makes sense in the long run i was told that the mod i have in at the moment wont run dvdr games ayway ps i got the mod installed + 8 games and the dvd region x for under £60.00 so iv not lost out to mutch thanks again frank
