    Hey everybody,

I just stumbled across this site via Crystal-Chips.Com while trying to figure out which modchip to get with my new PSTwo and thought this forum was exactly what I was looking for. Instead of clearing some things up the experience of reading through this forum has left me a little lost though.

Instead if finding answers in these threads I found more questions. I hope some of you could be so kind as to help me figure some of this stuff out.

First of all, I've decided on a silver PS2 with a Crystal V2.0 modchip. There's a great deal on modded PS2/PSTwo's on a german site that I don't want to miss and the C-V2.0 seems to be the best, especially now that the DMS4 SE PRO (or whatever) sold out.

Reading this forum I found certain remarks that suggested some things that I'd like someone to clear up a bit for me.
For instance, I read that slimline can't play certain PSX titles. Is this true? If so, what kind of PSX titles would I miss out on?
I also read that it's prone to overheat. Is this also true? How many of you have had PSTwos without running into heat issues?
Is it possible to connect a USB-stick to a PSTwo, and if so does one need some kind of adapter for that?
Is it possible to connect a PSTwo to a network and have it communicate in some way with a PC? If so, what kind of benefits does that offer? Streaming music and video?
Is there a list of games that, for whatever reason, have issues with the Crystal V2.0 or modchips in general?

That's all I can think of right now, and I know these are newb questions, but please, bear with me here

I recently had my ps2 modded with a CC2.0. Let me tell you, you wont regret it. I think I can provide answers to some of your questions. I haven't played every single psx games on my ps2 yet but I have tried ff8 and resident evil 3 on it and I know those work. Ps2 slim overheating was just a rumour, so not true. Yes it's possible to connect a usb pen to your ps2. That's actually the prefer method for installing updates and homebrew programs. There's no need for an adapter, you just need a usb key. It's possible to network your ps2 and your pc but I haven't tried it out yet.

For the other questions, I suggest you pm jones. He knows the CC 2.0 inside out.

    Cheers

    Thank you

One more question, if I may. To install these homebrew programs, like the SNES emulator for instance, don't I need to have a hard-drive to install these programs onto, or can you run stuff like that straight from the usb-stick?

So far I've only seen one option to connect a HDD to the slimline version, via some IDE adapter that's anything but a sexy piece of hardware.
