New Type of Sanyo Laser in V9?

Apologies if someone has already seen this but I haven't and I couldn't find it doing a quick search.

Today I started to mod a PAL (UK) V9, SCPH-50003 (Silver Satin)when I noticed that the laser in the unit was not the KHS-400C, but what appears to be a new type of Sanyo laser. It still has the name HD7 like the old Sanyo one but looks completely different, see pics. As can be seen it looks a lot like a Sony laser from underneath, but closely resembles the Sanyo from above, but with a new cover. It also has a metal laser arm, although the bit that sits on the snake drive is still metal. This arm actually bends when it is in the unit so applies pressure on the snake drive, which probably makes it less likely to jump and wear out.

Anyone else seen one?
