New ps2 slim and dms4 pro chip

I just bought a new slim ps2 yesterday and a dms4 pro chip . the fella doing the install was talking about a laser fix . does my console need it done i have read here that it might not . I just don't want it burnt out in no time . thats all

if u searched you would have found your answer of that u need a fix and with any chip installed it'll melt
