I finally received a new pal 50xxx model ps2 (you can choose either white or black)

what is the most suitable chip for it

Actually you don't have that many choices. Messiah 1.31 works, also DMS is said to, but they have some production problems these days. And you could read about Mars, and that's it. There are roumors about *ipper2 Deluxe can be upgraded by a flash to support V9, but I doubt. Matrix Team is just relasing their mod which fully supports V9 in days. At the moment, you should wait and see, or the only thing you can do is to get a Messiah, and live with its minor bugs...
