New to MI, Read issues
New to MI, Read issues –

Hello. I recently installed my new Matrix Infinity on a v3 ps2 and successfully upgraded to the most recent firmware. Is the standby light supposed to turn off when you boot the console, mine does, red to nothing? I can boot CDRs fine, a DVDR i tried was not reading properly. Is this most likely an issue with media or soldering/wire? Also, should I access the Matrix config menu and change any settings other than default? My previous chip was a messiah2 maybe 3 years ago on my first console, not as many options as the MI. Thanks for any input.

The standby LED issue might be do to your ribbon cable being damaged. The DVD-R back-up not booting well is most likely do to a poor laser in your V3. That V3 is getting up there in years now and the laser I would bet is getting past its time. This is why chips like the CC and MI are so nice for these old consoles. With the dev features you can boot HDL with no disc in your console and access back-ups on your HDD in your PS2.

since your modchip support dev you can install dev1 to your MC or Dev2 to your HDD by this features you can avoid lens.
take a look a this page (how to Setup Dev1 and Dev2 by bootlegninja):

I will definitely look into the dev1&2 link that you provided. So only a new tape would fix the 'system on' led??
