new eject problem –
I failed to install my dms3 (got black screen when i switched it on)on my v4 ps2, so i cleaned up all the points and removed the chip. Now here is the problem:
When i switch on the ps2 and press the reset switch, i get black screen and the eject works. But from standby position the eject does not bring out the tray and a whirring sound could be heard, also the blue light flashes. I checked for any bridges and could not find anything what do you think it is? Please help as i dont want to have to buy another ps2.
This problem can be assosiated with a short on the CD/DVD controller points O,P,Q,R,S,T,U,V,W. Use a HIGH POWER magnifier at least 30X to see whats up. Also where did you solder the points O,P,Q,R,S,T,U,V,W?
I tried to solder to the via points at the back of the motherboard but the solder does not stick properly so i started scraping at the points but still no good. So i gave up. The via points look a mess, do u think the problem lies there or do u think i've blown a fuse or something?
Thanks for replying.
