It was updated online.
The thing is, I can't seem to find any changes from version 0.30... Do you know what was added/changed?
Actually, they patched some stuff regarding security. Now it seems to have all files signed and protected aganist modification.
Also, for this version, they aren't giving sourcecode for the linux kernel...
I believe this was done because PS2Ownz people are messing with BBNavi, using the PS2 Linux RTE as bootdisc ...
I heard that a PS2Ownz HK corrospondent named Ricky Lau has claimed to patch navi 0.31 into english instead of japanese. But there are videos that show that. Other than that it looks like they wanted to keep Team PS2Ownz from hacking it 'eh. I heard it also has DNAS on the disc or something. Well I wanted to share my 2 cents on this topic.
.30 also has DNAS check the credits with the select button. Yeah it seems days after the ownz release took off (it was a thursday) by the following monday .31 was out.
Yup....another reason to blame ownz for screwing up shit again. They mess with Sony "proprietary" stuff all the time, then it makes it harder for everyone.Originally posted by Agent21KGB

Just remember......Sony is watching everything. They're most likely monitoring Ownz and I wouldn't be surprised if they were on here as well.
BBNavi has DNAS ever since 1st version. The DNAS is used to check if the HDD was attempted on a PC (password lock) and before allowing download of any kind of contents from the channels. So using the japanese BBNavi in a US or PAL PS2 is kind of loss of time in my opinion, as it would never grant you access for the online contents... But that is my personal opinion and I don't think it makes any diference ...
True enough, but with all the stuff that they're doing.....it was bound to happen. Let's just say that hacking with Sony proprietary stuff will definitely get you "noticed".Originally posted by l_oliveira

Yeah, exactly, BBNavi cracked, at it's current state does basically nothing, not even CD track ripping works!
and for most of you who are really into the cracked BBNavi, take a look at this> http://www.surphase.net/ownage/convo.jpg
