Network Disc wonÂ´t boot on modified PS2 ??

Hi,

I live in the Netherlands (thatÂ´s in Europe

) and there are some rumors about the PAL Network Disc. IÂ´ve heard that the PAL Network Disc wonÂ´t boot if you have a mod-chip that canÂ´t be turned off.. Does anyone know if this is true or is it just bullshit..
Does the NTSC Network Disc has this protection ??

No protection at all on U/C version.

Is just a DVD.

try the ps1 mode to boot it ..

Sorry to contredict you Gradius but they are protected. You won't be able to install any drivers unless you turn your chip off.

Sorry to say that, but I installed one just a two days ago and works perfectly.

I booted in PS2 mode with Messiah2 PRO ON (ON!).

All runs perfectly, without any problem.

The same goes for DVD driver CD (v2.12U), I can install the driver to memory perfectly, same with Messiah2 PRO ON (ON!).

I couldn't boot it with magic 3.1 apparently you boot it in psx mode.

I could install the drivers using SOCOM anyway.

damn.. so nobody knows 4 sure what kinda protection the Disc has ??

Well Gradius, you must be doing something special because nobody was able to install any driver with the chip on. Do a search on the board and you will see.

Mine works with a chip. I have a Magic 3.1 and never had any kind of problem installing the network.

It works perfectly. I lol a lot to see guys getting problems with a disc not protected at all.
