have a us v7 with m2 installed. been running great for 2 weeks now and today i installed the network adapter. now you can hear the fan change speed as well as needing to hold the reset button down longer to get the ps2 to reset. shutting down to standby also takes longer. it seems like the network adapter is drawing to much power from the ps2. is this normal?? anyone else see this ??

just an update when the game starts the fan speeds up and you see an amber flash. looking through the front air vents its on the left side. remove the network adapter and all is well.

If you have the PS2 linux kit you would be used to it. When a hard disk & Network Adaptor is installed in the PS2 it seems as if the hole Power supply is bogged down noticeably. Fans slows down etc.

On my system, I can't even reset the thing when the network disc is in the tray. I have to turn off the power supply switch to change game.

I freaked out when I first saw this too. Its your NIC card (I thought it was a glowing wire) But if you notice, you wont see that flash unless its a network capable game

Fix? This is normal man. Just a necessary evil you are gonna have to get used to if you want the luxury of having the network adapter.

I think has to do more with the fact that the mod is pulling power from the system to begin with. Then add to the fact that you have a network adapter and the overall wattage use increses.

This of course would vary based on which chip you have.
