    Hi

I want to replace my old Neo 4 modchip on my PAL PS2 with a smart and new Messiah 2 chip. The problem is that I've lost the small component you have to remove for Neo 4.

Does someone know what this component is ? resistor ? capacitor ? value ?

    Thanks in advance !

Yes, a long time ago, I was young and it was the only non-swap modchip :-)

    Hi M8,

You don't need to re-attach the resistor you removed, however, you will need to rejoin the track that was cut.
I recently removed the Neo 4 from my son's machine and replaced it with the Messiah 2 Pro and it worked fine once the track was re-connected. However, dont press 'Reset' with the tray open, it makes a nice grinding sound, hence what the resistor was more then likely for.
But since your installing a M2, you won't need to press reset with tray open as it loads with inserting cd and closing tray.
    Hope this help,
    ATB
